Police nab 5 drug peddlers, quarantine violators

THE City of San Fernando Police implemented its Oplan Galugad recently in Barangay Del Pilar, resulting in the arrest of 14 individuals, five of whom were allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade in the said barangay.

The rest of the apprehended individuals were mostly quarantine violators.

City Chief of Police Police Lieutenant Colonel John Clark said the five suspects were identified as John Manuel and Nestor Salvidar, both residents of Sitio Matahimik in Barangay Del Pilar; along with Jerome Bautista and Sydney Nejera, both residents of Barangay Sta. Lucia; and one Marian Candelaria, a resident of New Public Market.

The arrest of the suspects yielded 21 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately five grams with an estimated value of P34,000.

Police operatives manning the checkpoint in line with the Oplan Galugad also managed to flag down a motorcycle that happens to be the alleged missing motorcycle in a May 14, 2021 theft incident in Barangay Quebiawan. The suspect was later identified as Jay-R Santos, a resident of Barangay Baliti in this capital city.

The city chief commended all members of the operating team comprised of San Fernando intel operatives, members of Pampanga Provincial Intelligence Unit, Pampanga 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Pampanga Highway Patrol Team, City Public Order and Safety Coordinating Office for the operations.

“This feat was a collective effort of all the involved units, I would like to thank everyone for the proper execution of their mandate. These operations are under the direct supervision and instructions of our Regional Director General Veleriano de Leon and our Provincial Director Colonel Arnold Thomas Ibay,” Clark said.
