ACTING City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery on Thursday, May 20, assured the public that those who wanted to get vaccinated will know what kind of Covid-19 vaccine they will be receiving once they are at the vaccination site.
This, after the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) directed local government units not to announce the brand of vaccine to be used for inoculation to prevent mass gatherings and long lines.
"Those of you nga magpa vaccinate, you will surely know kung unsa nga vaccine ang ihatag ka ninyo," Nery said.
According to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año, vaccine brands will be revealed to the vaccinee on-site and should the person refuse to accept the vaccine, he will have to go back to the back of the line.
Nery said it is impossible to keep the brand of the vaccine from the vaccinee since he or she will have to fill out the consent form.
"The consent form is specific. Naay consent form for the type of vaccines. Karon sa ato dinhi, ang ato lang man nga available is ang Sinovac ug ang AstraZeneca. So lahi ang consent form. Nakasulat gyud didto 'Consent Form for Sinovac' ug 'Consent Form for AstraZeneca,'" Nery said.
"Apil ang sa pagkuha nato sa atong assessment form nga ihatag nila sa doctor, specific gyud pud sya ang for Sinovac or for AstraZeneca," she added.
As such, the individual will surely know what kind of vaccine he or she will receive, Nery said.
She further said that it is for the sake of transparency since it will affect the demand generation for Covid-19 vaccine.
