Netflix’s ‘Trese’ trailer featuring Liza Soberano’s voice out

NETFLIX released Friday, May 21, the official trailer of its original anime series “Trese” featuring the voice of Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano.

Trese is based on the Philippine graphic novel created by Budjette Tan and KaJO Baldisimo. It will be premiered on Netflix on June 11, 2021.



Soberano will voice the main character Alexandra Trese in the Filipino language version of the series. She will be joined by local professional voice talents Simon dela Cruz (as Crispin and Basilio), Apollo Abraham (Captain Guerrero), Christopher Carlo Caling (Hank), Christian Velarde (Nuno), and Eugene Adalia (Anton Trese).

The local voice talents will be directed by Filipino language voice artist director Rudolf Baldonado.

For its English language version, Shay Mitchell will voice Alexandra Trese, and will be joined by Darren Criss, Jon Jon Briones, Nicole Scherzinger, Manny Jacinto, Lou Diamond Phillips and Dante Basco.

“Set in a Manila where the mythical creatures of Philippine folklore live in hiding among humans, Alexandra Trese finds herself going head to head with a criminal underworld comprised of malevolent supernatural beings,” said Netflix.

Filipino band UDD, formerly known as Up Dharma Down, composed the official soundtrack for Trese, titled “Paagi,” with lyrics by Armi Millare and Paul Yap.

Trese is directed by Jay Oliva, who was also behind the “Justice League Dark” and “The Legend of Korra.” Oliva is also one of the executive producers.

Netflix said there will be six episodes and they will be released all at once. (LMY/With PR)
