Jenica Garcia confirmed break up with hubby Alwyn Uytingco

JENNICA Garcia confirmed that her 7-year relationship with husband Alwyn Uytingco has ended.

"From a family-of-four, we are now just a family-of-three, sacrifices must really be made."

Jenic and Alwyn were secretly married in February 2014 at the Victory Church in Greenhills, San Juan City. The comebacking actress refused to answer the reason behind their separation.

“That's the most that I could say right now. That's the most that I can say now. It's the reason din kasi talaga kung bakit kinailangan [ko] bumalik sa pag-aartista."

The issue of their separation was rooted when Jenica was interviewed by Cristy Ferminute on March 30, 2021. Jenica evaded the question referring to her deleted wedding photos on her Instagram account.

“Nay Cristy, alam niyo sa totoo lang po, nahihiya ako dahil sa inyo na rin po nanggaling, dahil ninang ko nga po kayo sa binyag. Kaya ko naman pong sabihin sa inyo, Nay Cristy, kung tayong dalawa lang po, out of my respect din po, of course, naman po of you. It’s just that right now, Nay, talagang hindi lang po kaya sa ngayon na pag-usapan pa po.”

Jenica stressed that the reason for their split up is not on the financial aspect.

“FINANCIAL PROBLEM is NOT the reason. Going back and pursuing my career as an actress is simply the wise thing for me to do in this season in my life. Our savings was never an issue. If you see an article with me putting Alwyn in a bad light, please make sure it was published by a reputable source before you believe it. I will NEVER say anything bad about the father of my children.”

She also mentioned that her current statements will be her last to avoid confusion to her children.

“Because what I said is twisted by other Entertainment Sources due to their chosen Titles. I will try my best to gear away from questions pertaining to Alwyn from this day forward to protect what my children will be able to read in the future.”

And to her sympathizers, she said: “To those who sympathize with us, thank you. Know that even before your heart broke for my kids, for what happened to us... Alwyn and I's heart got broken too. My mind is clouded with worries and fear.”

Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista is tapped as one of the judges at the Djooky Music Awards, an international music contest for musicians. Djooky Music Awards is a global song contest started by the music platform Djooky, where musicians can upload their original work to the website.

Heading the panel of judges is Brian Malouf, a multi-platinum record producer for well-known artists like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Pearl Jam, and Stevie Wonder. Another judge is songwriter, producer, and film scorer Sacha Skarbeck, who is best known for his compositions like James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” and Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball.”

With the inclusion of Christian in the panel of judges, the Djooky Music Awards aims to include more countries in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, to be part of the competition. Christian is described by the Djooky website as a “multi-platinum Filipino singer well-known throughout South East Asia.” Among Christian's notable works cited by Djooky are the hit song “The Way You Look At Me” and his participation in the musicals West Side Story, Cinderella, Ghost, and Jersey Boys, which were staged in the Philippines.

The winner of the Djooky Music Award is chosen through a voting process, with 50 percent coming from fans and online audiences and the other half from the judges. The spring season national voting round is currently happening, where Christian is chosen as part of the panel of judges. According to its website, the grand winner will have the choice of a $20,000 cash prize or a trip to record one song at the iconic Capitol Studios in Los Angeles, USA, with Brian Malouf.

Meanwhile, aside from being part of the Djooky Music Awards, Christian, along with Julie Anne San Jose, is currently doing the digital musical series Still Together, which will be shown on the streaming platform Viu. He is also set to return as a judge in the fourth season of GMA-7’s singing competition The Clash.
