A FORMER three-term councilor in Arayat town who is known as the "Action Man” is eyeing the second top seat in this first class municipality in next year's election.

Jeff Luriz, who will run for vice-mayor of Arayat next year, said: “I have been helping my constituents for about two years already and I love what I am doing.”

Luriz said he focuses on health service because “this is very essential," adding that this is also one of the priorities of the Provincial Government.

He regularly holds people’s day at his residence in Barangay Arenas where he is visited by his cabalens seeking various forms of assistance.

Luriz has already donated cavans of rice, two-way radios, wheel chairs, walking aide, blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, disinfectants, medicines and other forms of assistance to residents and barangay officials.

The 45-year-old businessman said he and his family are building a P65-million commercial complex in Arenas where a dialysis center will rise.

“We will give free dialysis to all residents of Arayat. They no longer need to travel far and spend for transportation when availing of medical services,” said Luriz. “We will no longer ask for certifications or documents when they want to avail of the dialysis sessions.”

Luriz said he wants to be vice-mayor “to change the political landscape of Arayat.”

“People should not get empty promises from politicians. There will be no corruption once I win as vice-mayor,” he added.

Luriz said he wants equal treatment for all residents. “There will be no rich or poor. All will be equal.”

He said “people should also be taught how to fish and they should not rely on dole-outs most of the time.”
