President Gina Garcia-Atienza sustains the projects of Zonta Club of Cebu through regular board and membership meetings. So, the continuing and relevant activities are sustained.
The Education committee headed by Zontians Matt Baguia and Rufina Tanchan has gone beyond the club’s partnership with the Tulay National High School. The leadership, value formation and community activities won recognition from the Zonta International through Area 3.
There are concrete innovations done in the adopted schools like the fencing project, upgrading of instructional resources, leadership and interactive sessions focused on dealing with crises like the Covid pandemic.
The general membership meetings tackle practical sessions on food, health, family through virtual interactions. President Gina believes that womanhood and parenting are complementary tools for effective community leadership. One major project is a Cookbook, which features nutrition-based dishes for varying social strata. It has some food good for “carenderia” for women whose source of livelihood is home-based cooking.
The Zontians have explored their skills to cope with the pandemic like collecting and growing plants, baking and cooking, and online selling.
