THERE is an old proverb that goes, “Health is Wealth.”

Good health is not only the absence of disease, but also an individual's complete physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.

It has a significant impact on our lives because health is regarded as the most valuable and precious asset for every individual.

Wil Dasovich is a multi-award-winning Filipino-American YouTuber and influencer from San Francisco, California.

His vlogs are well known for his high energy, wild antics, fitness, food, motivational talks, and his battle fighting cancer.

“My videos consist of my spontaneous everyday life as each day is a new adventure. With an emphasis on traveling and personal well-being, my vlogs are meant to encourage everyone to go out, explore, and make the most out of every situation they come across,” Wil said.

In his recent vlog, titled ‘My Complete Vaccination Experience’, he talked about his experience taking the vaccine after his father and sister were both vaccinated.

He also shared his powerful daily routine for living a healthier life.

He refers to them as “micro-workouts.” He stated that one of the most important factors associated with longevity is a small amount of exercises throughout the day.

He said it is more important than engaging in a 20-minute or one-hour intense workout every day.

“I do a lot of weird things. I brush my teeth one by one for almost four minutes while standing on one foot. I hang upside down for five to 10 minutes every morning when I wake up. I wear these nerdy glasses at night and if my dad decides to turn on all the extremely bright lights in the house after sunset, then I wear my shades even whilst eating at the dinner table,” Wil said.

Wil explained that he does all of these things for a purpose.

“Purpose always comes back to one thing and it’s health,” Wil said.

He mentioned that the most important thing is to keep our bodies moving in different positions rather than standing in one position the entire time.

He performs small, easy exercises throughout the day to maintain blood circulation and muscle stimulation in the body, as well as to prevent any pains or muscle atrophy.

“Whenever I come up stairs or anywhere near my room, I always do five pull ups. When I’m editing, when I’m working I always take a break and I do probably just 10 or 20 jumping jacks and then I go back to work. Another hour or two hits, I’ll do like 10 or 20 push-ups and then I go back to work,” Wil said.

Wil asked his father if he is worried about him getting the vaccine, and his father replied:

“Scared for what? I’m happy for you. I’m not scared, I’m glad you guys are gonna get them. That’s fine, you guys will be fine.”

Wil questioned his father again about the possibility of serious side effects on his body.

“With all that clean food you eat, you won’t have a bad reaction,” Wil’s father said.

Wil's father also stated that all vaccines have a slight risk, but that everything in life has a slight risk, so it is still a matter of personal choice.

“Weigh the risk, decide for yourself,” he said.

When Wil was getting his first shot in California, the nurse warned him: “It will make you a little dehydrated, headache or fatigue. So it’s best that you always drink a lot of water today"

However, Wil has had no noticeable side effects after a few days.

He even crushed a workout on the day of his vaccination and got a good night's sleep later that night with a low resting heart rate of 45 beats per minute and a high heart rate variability of 125 milliseconds

“People react differently but I think it’s important to take into consideration my personal condition upon taking the vaccine. I was well rested from seven hours of sleep, I was fasted, and in a deep ketosis at 1.8 millimoles and my glucose levels were at 81 mg/dL,” Wil said.

Wil also stated that when a person is in a fasted state, their body induces autophagy.

Autophagy is the body’s way of cleaning out damaged cells in order to generate newer and healthier cells.

Wil highly recommend incorporating fasting into our daily lives in order to improve our gut bacteria and microbiome, which house 70 percent of our immune system.

He consumes coffee, which doesn’t really break your fast, bone broth for collagen and vitamin supplements while fasting.

He also encourages his followers and everyone else to take vitamin D3, omega-3s, prebiotics, probiotics, and multivitamins.

In his closing statement, he stated, "Hopefully, we could help educate each other on this matter so that we all have as much information as possible to help us make the right decision."

A happy life and meaningful activities are built on the foundation of good health because we can only focus on other important aspects of our lives when we are healthy. (Angel Lyka Arriola, AdDU intern)
