THE first lady of Arayat town is set to receive an award for her contributions in uplifting the lives of her fellow Arayateños.

Madeth "Madir" Alejandrino, wife of Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino, is named as the Honorary Public Servant of the Year award by the Nation Builders Awards.

The award giving body cited the efforts of Alejandrino in ensuring the welfare of Arayateños, especially during the pandemic.

It noted of Alejandrino's role as president of the barangay health workers (BHWs) in town, and later on as executive assistant of Governor Dennis Pineda.

The first lady led BHWs in ensuring the safety of Arayateños and the community during the lockdown and spearheaded activities that will benefit women and senior citizens through the Provincial Government's "Alagang Nanay" program.

Alejandrino, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to the Nation Builders Awards for recognizing her contributions to the community.

"It is very honoring to know that somebody recognizes what I do for the community and I am grateful for the award they are giving me," she said.

She added that the feat will surely give her more motivation to further her advocacy of helping more Arayateños.

"My only goal is help my needy kabalens, especially women and senior citizens and I hope I can do more and help more," she said.
