WORKERS from Pampanga who are more at risk for coronavirus disease infection are now included in the priority list of the national government's vaccination program.
This was after Pampanga was included in the National Capital Region (NCR) Plus 8 region along with Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Metro Cebu and Metro Davao.
The Inter-Agency Task Force has identified the areas under NCR Plus 8 region to be the initial focus of the vaccine rollout for A4 cluster, or the essential economic workers.
It noted that the said areas were determined to be the most populous and of highest density in the country, making them at the greatest risk for Covid-19 transmission.
Considered to be part of A4 group are private employees required to physically report to work; employees of different government agencies; and workers in the informal sector and self-employed who may be required to work outside of their homes and those working in private households.
The government aims to start in June the vaccination of about A4 workers.
