THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 has released P2.5 million for 974 beneficiaries in the municipalities of Medellin, Daanbanayan, and Samboan, Cebu on May 19, 20, and 25, respectively.

This payout is under the cash-for-work program of DSWD 7’s Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (Kalahi-Cidss KKB).

Kalahi-Cidss KKB focuses on supporting livelihood-related priorities that generate and diversify the income of households using the community-driven development approach.

The work of the beneficiaries includes cleaning the streets and shorelines, disinfecting public areas, and backyard gardening. They rendered work for five to 10 days.

Talisay City and the towns of Barili and Tabogon will soon have their payouts through the program.

On May 26, 2021, the program released P350,000 for 96 beneficiaries in the municipality of Guindulman, Bohol. It will release P650,000 for 513 beneficiaries in Garcia and Sierra Bullones, both in Bohol, next week. (NRC, PR)
