Drug personality shot dead by ‘riding-in-tandem’

A DRUG personality in Bacolod City was shot to death by two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants on Rosario Street, Barangay 38, Bacolod City Monday evening, May 31, 2021.

Police identified the fatality as Roue Senador, 52, of Purok Malapitan, Baragay Alijis, Bacolod.

Police Major Ramel Sarona, chief of Police Station 1, said Tuesday, June 1, that the victim was riding his motorcycle when he was followed by the assailants, who were wearing helmets, from Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14 around 7 p.m.

When they reached Rosario Street, one of the gunmen fired at him several times and fled toward the east of Rosario Street.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

Police recovered from the crime scene three fired cartridges of .9mm caliber, a motorcycle, helmet, a pouch containing P1,500 cash, and a cellular phone.

Sarona said the victim was a former detainee for violation of illegal drugs. The victim’s wife also admitted that he engaged in illegal drug activity.

Sarona said the victim was also identified by some detainees at the station that he was selling illegal drugs in the city.

The police are eyeing illegal drugs and personal grudge as possible motives in the killing of the victim.

Sarona said they already secured a copy of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in the area, but the footages are not clear to identify the assailants.

He said they will coordinate with the other business establishment in the area to check their CCTV camera to determine the identity of the suspects.
