KCS Computer Specialist ace guard Christopher “Ping” Exciminiano is expected to keep on playing for the squad when they compete in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup National Finals after he was not activated by his Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) team, the TNT Tropang Giga, for Season 46.

The veteran guard, who was loaned by TNT to KCS for the Visayas leg of the tournament, is set to play in the nationals, as he was not part of the Tropang Giga squad that trained for two weeks in Laoag in preparation for the brand new PBA season.

This bodes well for KCS who is awaiting the champion of the Mindanao leg, which is tentatively slated for a June 12 opening. Exciminiano is a valuable asset to KCS, especially after he worked his way back from a hamstring injury to help the team vanquish the heavily-favored MJAS Zenith Talisay in the finals, winning the Finals MVP plum along the way.

KCS head coach Mike Reyes, who is the brother of TNT head coach Chot Reyes, said there has not been any conversations regarding Exciminiano’s availability for the national finals so he’s assuming that the latter’s participation has the green light from his mother team.

After tearing his Achilles, TNT came to terms with the veteran guard, signing him to a one-year deal back in February. (JNP)
