The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is looking at either the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo or Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig to be the league’s playing venue when the 46th season opens this year.

League commissioner Willie Marcial said they are not looking to use large gyms since they don’t expect any fans to be watching from the stands any time soon. The long time league exec has already had exploratory talks with Antipolo Mayor Junjun Ynares for the potential use of the Ynares Sports Center. Wherever the league decides to stage their games, they must secure clearance from the local government unit involved.

The league, though, is still waiting for the next Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) announcement regarding the quarantine status of the National Capital Region before they can move forward with any plans.

"We'll discuss the finer details of plans after June 15," said Marcial on a report on the league’s official website, PBA.ph.

“If it’s only us, we can go with Ynares-Pasig. The only problem is it does not have any dugouts and so, we need to put up tents as dressing areas for the players,” shared Marcial. (JNP)
