THE first-ever branch of LandBank of the Philippines (LandBank) Agri-hub in Pampanga will open soon in Candaba town.

This, after officials of LandBank and the local government broke ground on Wednesday, June 2, for the construction of the building at the Government Center in Barangay Pasig, Candaba.

LBP Central Luzon First Vice President Sylvia Lim said Candaba has been chosen as the first home of Agri-hub in Pampanga, as it is considered one of the top producers of rice in the region.

She said agri-hubs, which were first established in 2020, aims to bring financial services closer to more farmers and fisherfolk across the country.

"One of the mandated clients of LandBank are the farmers and fishermen so we opened a facility that will prioritize their needs and its first branch in Pampanga will be constructed in Candaba," she said.

Services that will be offered through the soon-to-rise facility include account opening, deposits, withdrawals, lending and other agrarian-related concerns.

Mayor Rene Maglanque, for his part, expressed gratitude to LandBank for choosing Candaba as a venue for their delivering their services.

He said some 8,553 farmers and fisherfolk and thousands of CandabeƱos and residents of nearby towns will benefit once the financial institutions opens by October.

"The opening of LBP Agri-hub will address the need for financial services in Candaba and our neighboring towns and spur further development in our town," he said.
