GILARAW ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia nga ibalik na ang pag-export og mga buhing baboy sa Metro Manila subay sa nakitang pag-stabilize sa supply ug presyo sa karne sa kamerkadohan.

“Kasi mga two or three months ago, hindi na stabilized yung prices, tumaas ng tumaas so we had to cut the sending of live hogs,” matod ni Garcia.
Niluwat og kamandoan si Garcia pinaagi sa iyang Executive Order (EO) 8 sa Enero 2021 nga nag-ban sa pag-export og buhing baboy sulod sa unom ka mga buwan.
“But right now, I believe we have enough supply. We will again resume nga maka-send out na tayo ng live hogs ulit in Metro Manila,” matod ni Garcia.
Atol sa pakighinabi sa mga tigbalita, si Agriculture Secretary William Dar nagkanayon nga sa kasamtangan, adunay 26 porsyento nga kakuwangon sa supply sa karneng baboy sa tibuok nasud.
Hinungdan nga kinahanglan nga moangkat og dugang supply sa baboy gikan sa laing mga nasud.
“Una, we have to continue building up yung local industry. There’s no substitute to that. We need to recuperate, repopulate, recover the local hog industry... But itong kakulangan natin 26%, so ito yung pinupunan natin, supply agumentation from other countries, and the lowering of the tariff plus the minimum access volume is now making a significant impact in terms of reducing pork products in Manila, for Manila in particular,” matod ni Dar.
Dugang ni Dar nga hinuon nakita ang pagkunhod sa mga kaso sa ASF sa nasud sa unang upat ka mga buwan sa 2021 kon itandi sa samang higayon sa miaging tuig.
“Kung ikukumpara po natin sa last four months last year vis-a-vis the four months of this year, it has significantly been down by 50 percent. So kung yung last four months last year was 1,000 cases, dito 500 cases na so smaller and smaller,” matod ni Dar.
Nakadayeg si Dar sa lakang sa Probinsya ug iyang tinguha nga mosaka pa ang production level excess aron magahinan usab og supply ang Manila. (ANV)
