THE Bacolod City Police Station 2 has yet to establish the motive in the killing of two men inside their car at Bacolod Real Estate Development Corp. (Bredco) Port in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2, Bacolod City on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, chief of Police Station 2, on Thursday said they are still investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators in the killing of Dexter Bryan Ursos, 41, of Barangay 4; and Fernando Mahipos, 39, of Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14.

A four-year-old girl, whose identity was withheld for security reasons, was also inside the vehicle, but she was unhurt.

Ursos was driving his Mitsubishi Mirage vehicle along with Mahipos and the girl when unidentified assailants fired at them around 7:30 p.m. on June 1.

The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime eight empty-fired cartridge cases, a deformed slug, a sachet of shabu, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, P4,000 counterfeit money, and other personal belongings of the victims.

Pendon said Ursos, a real estate broker, and Mahipos, a vendor of frozen foods, were not drug personalities and had no records at the Bacolod City Police Office.

He said they are facing difficulty in identifying the suspects because they have no witnesses and the area had no closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera.

“The four-year-old girl was already in the custody of her grandmother and still in trauma. For now, we cannot talk to her so we will wait that time that she’s ready to talk about the incident,” he added.

Pendon said they are still gathering evidence to determine the motive and identity of the suspects.
