THE Office of Civil Defensen (OCD)-Western Visayas has turned over 100 sacks of National Food Authority (NFA) rice to the Province of Guimaras on June 4, 2021.

OCD-Western Visayas information officer Cindy Ferrer said the agency has seen the need of the Provincial Government of Guimaras for relief assistance amid the surge of Covid-19 cases in the province.

Ferrer said it is the mandate of the OCD to provide relief assistance during the time of emergencies.

Governor Samuel Gumarin has extended gratitude to OCD-Western Visayas Director Roberto Nuñez for the relief assistance.

These sacks of rice will augment the Provincial Government's relief drive, according to the governor.

Several communities in the province were put on lockdown as Guimaras continues to record an increase in the number of infections.
