Mayor assures readiness of Angeles City vs calamities

ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has assured Angeleños of the readiness of the local government against any form of calamity.

This, after Lazatin, together with Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, inspected on June 3, 2021 the stockpile of 700 sacks of rice and 1,500 packed relief goods stored at the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

The mayor also instructed CSWDO Officer Joy Duaso to prepare the said food packs in case of any calamity.

During the onslaught of Tropical Dtorm Dante, Lazatin ordered Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction Officer Rudy Simeon to immediately evacuate informal settlers residing in the Abacan Riverbed, Barangay Malabanias.

A total of 13 families, composed of 45 individuals, were evacuated as part of the pre-emptive measures being implemented by the City Government.

He also ordered the dismantling of their makeshift houses in the Abacan riverbed and assured the informal settlers that they will be relocated in a government-owned property lot.

The City Government also ensured that evacuation centers are prepared in times of emergency.

The Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal hoisted during the onslaught of Dante in Angeles City was already lifted on Thursday, June 3, according to the City Information Office. (JTD/With Angeles City Information Office)
