Anti-drug stings net 4, P75,480 shabu

GOVERNMENT operatives have arrested four people, including a woman, and seized some P75,480 worth of illegal drugs in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Friday, June 4, 2021.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as the following: Amina Barahim, 40; Philip Jayson Jayari, 33; Edwina Batulan, 52; Dascar Kahal, 45.

Chang said Barahim yielded some P6,800 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3:40 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Malasugat in Sangali village, Zamboanga City.

She said Jayari was in possession of some P31,280 worth of suspected shabu, a coin purse, and P200 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 5:15 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Pasay in San Roque village, this City.

Chang said seized from Batulan were some P3,400 worth of suspected shabu, a coin purse, and P200 amrked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 6:05 p.m. Thursday at Tambucho Drive in Camino Nuevo village, this city.

Chang said recovered from Kahal were some P34,000 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 9:15 p.m. Thursday in Recodo village, this city.

She said the arrested suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
