2 ex-NPA rebels nabbed

TWO former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were arrested in separate law enforcement operations in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, a top police official announced Friday, June 4, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified them as follows: Jessie Pularan Banse alias Ka Kins, 39; and William Petiluna Nahime alias Ka Jorem, 36.

Ylagan said Banse was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of a warrant of arrest around 11:30 a.m. Thursday in San Pablo village, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.

He said Banse has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of attempted homicide with P36,000 recommended bail dated April 14, 2021 issued by the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Mahayag-Dumingag- Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur.

Ylagan said Nahime was arrested in a law enforcement operation around 10:30 a.m. Thursday also in San Pablo village, Dumingag.

He said Nahime has existing warrant of arrest for the crime of attempted homicide with P36,000 recommended bail dated April 14, 2021, issued by the same court.

Ylagan said both were temporarily detained at the custodial facility of Zamboanga del Sur First Provincial Mobile Force Company at Camp Major Reginaldo Abelon in Lumbia village, Pagadian City, the capital of the province. (SunStar Zamboanga)
