MORE than 40 senior citizens housed in Bahay Pag-Ibig, a home for the elderlies in Barangay Telabastagan, City of San Fernando, were inoculated against Covid-19 by the City Government of San Fernando on June 4, 2021.

The vaccination team of the City Health Office visited the elderly in the said institution since they were incapable of traveling or going outside due to some medical conditions.

Dr. Iris Rose Muñoz, the City Expanded Program on Immunization, said the inoculation was made possible through the initiatives of both the local government unit and Bahay Pag-ibig.

The identified vaccine recipients were old men and women who were abandoned by their families or relatives.

Apart from this initiative, the vaccination team currently reviews the possibility of inoculating bed-ridden senior citizens in every barangay of the city.

Senior citizens are under the A2 priority population group for the country’s Covid-19 vaccination program. (PR)
