A BUSINESSMAN was killed in a gun attack at his own residence in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Sunday, June 6, 2021.
Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 9 p.m. Saturday in Sitio Tangalan in Kawayan village, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Chang identified the fatality as Hermes Soria Tan, 60, a businessman.
She said investigation showed that Tan surfaced from his residence seeking help moments after the victim’s neighbors heard a gunshot.
Chang said Tan was rushed to the Amoroso Hospital in the town of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay for treatment but was declared dead by the attending physician.
She said the police of Alicia are conducting a thorough investigation to establish the motive, as well as identify the suspect behind the incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
