PDEA seizes P2.4-M worth of marijuana

MORE than P2 million worth of suspected dried marijuana were seized by agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon in Tarlac over the weekend.

The illegal drugs were confiscated from two suspects identified as Julius Castro, 24, and John David Tapar, 28.

PDEA-Central Luzon Director Christian Frivaldo said the suspects entered into a drug deal with the agents, leading to their arrest.

The operation yielded 20 bricks of suspected dried marijuana leaves weighing 20 kilos and with an estimated street value of P2.4 million, buy-bust money and other personal belongings.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed the arrested suspects.
