283 new Covid-19 cases reported over the weekend

CORONAVIRUS infections in Cagayan de Oro has reached 8,037 after the city logged 283 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, all of which are local transmissions.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 283 new cases, 79 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 174 were local index cases, 15 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), five were Apors with link, and 10 deaths.

Of the 8,037 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 440 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 7,597 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 1,557 active cases, 418 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 1,138 were outpatients, and one LSI.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 180 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 6,122, with an 76.17-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 313 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 5,685 were local cases (community: 4,783; Apors: 902).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 358.
