Guv reiterates strict implementation of reverse isolation

ILOILO Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. reiterated the strict implementation of reverse isolation measures to manage the surge of Covid-19 cases in the province of Iloilo.

Defensor issued a memorandum to the mayors, punong barangays, BHERTS, and local task forces to strictly implement detection and isolation especially at the household level.

The governor stressed on the practice of reverse isolation whereby vulnerable persons, such as those 60 years old and above, pregnant women, and those with immunodeficiency, comorbidities, or other health risks shall be isolated at the household level.

Minimum public health standards shall be observed, such as wearing of face masks, eating meals separately and using separate utensils to reduce the risk of transmission.

Defensor also encouraged vulnerable persons to stay at home and limit their movements to essential travels.

Reverse isolation also applies to residents who go out on a daily basis for work or other essential transactions and those who visit hospitals or healthcare facilities for outpatient treatment.

Those who stay for more than 24 hours in hospitals or healthcare facilities shall undergo 14-day reverse isolation upon return home.

Local task forces and BHERTs should identify and maintain a database of vulnerable persons at the barangay level and conduct intensified detection and isolation of Covid-19 suspect cases. (PR)
