44,800 Sinovac vaccines arrive in Davao Region

DAVAO Region received 44,800 more doses of Sinovac CoronaVac vaccines on Tuesday morning, June 8, 2021, bringing the total Covid-19 vaccines that the region has received since March to 432,050 doses.

The additional doses of Sinovac arrived at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport and were then transported to the cold room of the Department of Health (DOH)-Davao Region.

DOH-Davao Director Annabelle Yumang said these vaccines will be distributed to Davao City and Davao Oriental.

“Kani siyang 44,800 na bakuna karon. First dose and second dose na ni siya para sa atong mga A1, A2, ug A3 nga group,” Yumang said.

As of June 6, a total of 377,370 out of the 387,250 previously received doses were already distributed. Of the vaccines distributed, a total of 247,935 have already been administered. Of this number, 198,110 were given for the first dose while 49,825 were for the second dose.

Currently, the region is administering vaccines for Priority A1, A2, and A3 groups. A1 are frontline health workers, A2 are senior citizens, and A3 are those with comorbidities.

1st dose distribution

The Davao City Government announced on its Facebook page on Thursday that the city will start administering the first dose of Sinovac for Priority Group A1 (medical health workers), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 who have not yet received their first dose.

The vaccines will be administered from Mondays to Sunday from June 7 to 12, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the following locations: Magallanes Elementary School (June 10 and 11); F. Dizon Elementary School (June 8 to 10); Gaisano Mall of Davao Bajada (June 9 until supplies last); SM City Davao-Ecoland (June 10 and 11); KorPhil Vocational Training Center-Tesda Bunawan (June 10 and 11); and Malagos Elementary School (June 10 and 11).

Meanwhile, schedules for Davao City National High School, Buhangin Central Elementary School, and Mintal Central Elementary School have yet to be announced.

The City Government, in a separate post, also announced that those from the A1 and A2 groups who have not yet received their second dose will be contacted for their schedule, which will be between June 7 and June 12.

Venues for the second dose include University of the Southeastern Philippines-Obrero campus on June 7 and 10 for those living in the Agdano District; Buhangin Central Elementary School on June 8 to 10 for those in the Buhangin District; Matina Aplaya Elementary School on June 8 and 9 for those in the Talomo Central District; Calinan Central Elementary School on June 9 to 12 for those in the Calinan District; and SM Lanang Premier on June 10 and 11 for those in the Sasa District.

Vaccination sites are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
