BOARD Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab visited the coastal town of Sasmuan on Tuesday, June 8, as she brought with her food stuff for the marginalized families of the town that are most affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Pineda-Cayabayab, who was accompanied by local officials, met the families at the municipal covered court of the town.
She personally talked with beneficiaries and consulted with them on further programs and projects through Provincial Government legislation.
Pineda-Cayabyab said the distribution aims to support vulnerable sectors amid the ongoing pandemic and ease the economic burden the pandemic has on families and other sectors. The food packs contained rice and assorted canned goods. The food packs were purchased through the effort of the Pineda family.
A total of 20,000 Kapampangans from the marginalized sectors benefitted from the food assistance program of the Pineda family. In what has been dubbed as “sorties in-aid of legislation,” the series of distributions also provided an opportunity for Pineda-Cayabyab, along with the other board members who accompanied her, notably Rosve Henson, Ananias Canlas Jr. and Fritzie David-Dizon, to conduct impromptu consultations with community leaders and those in the marginalized sectors.
Inputs and feedbacks gathered from these consultations are taken to the Provincial Board for appropriate legislative action while those requiring executive interventions are referred to the Office of the Governor.
