THE implementation of the "No movement Sunday" and food and medicine (FM) pass are not yet being considered by the Davao City Government for now.

"Murag wala mana siya, so far, wala tay consideration pa (So far, it is not being considered) under the Covid-19 Task Force, wala pay (there is still no) proposal or resolution to restore the FM pass or no movement on Sunday," City Health Office (CHO) Acting Head Dr. Ashley Lopez said in an interview on 87.5 FM Davao City Disaster Radio on Wednesday, June 9.

But Lopez admitted that some "response" cluster groups and some feedback from the public are in favor of bringing back the FM pass and the “No movement Sundays” policy.

Davao City, since June 5, has been placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) due to the surge of active cases in the city.

Due to the surge, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said in an earlier interview that there is the possibility of bringing back the FM Pass and the “No movement Sundays” policy.

The City, however, has not issued any executive order reimposing the FM pass nor the no movement Sunday.

Duterte-Carpio also clarified on Monday, June 7, that there is no prohibition for people to go out on a Sunday even if the city is under a tight quarantine status.

“Wala ta’y ingon ana nga issuances (We do not have such issuances),” she said.

The mayor's clarification came as some netizens aired their sentiments in social media of being flagged down by police officers in the Quarantine Control Points in Toril on June 6.

Some netizens were also sharing information about the no movement Sunday policy.

The mayor clarified that this is a misinformation, saying the guidelines that were shared online were issued by the Provincial Government of Cotabato.

She said in the previous interview that the city did not impose a “No movement Sundays” policy even during the early days of the pandemic.

Duterte-Carpio emphasized, however, that only essential activities such as accessing food, medicine and services, as well as going to their workplaces, were allowed then.
