TRANSPORTATION Secretary Arthur P. Tugade recently led the inspection of the new Clark International Airport (CRK) passenger terminal, which is scheduled to open this July.

The new CRK is expected to accommodate 12.2 million passengers annually once it operates.

“Ininspeksyon ‘ho natin ang world class New Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) ng Clark International Airport sa Pampanga bilang paghahanda sa nalalapit na pagbubukas nito sa buwan ng Hulyo," Tugade said.

The Department of Transportation DOTR chief said he checked the actual construction of the world-class airport terminal.

He added that the capacity of the old terminal will triple once the new one is opened.

Domestic flights at the new terminal will start in July while international routes will commence in September, according to the DOTR official.

Clark airport will spur economic growth and provide convenience to the passengers, Tugade said.

Some 1,600 individuals were employed in the project amid the Covid 19 pandemic, the official added.

“You wait and see — this is a real 'world-class' terminal. It's coming up, it’s coming up in Clark. Thanks to Lipad (Luzon International Premier Airport Development), the men and women of the Clark International Airport are really very good," Tugade said.
