CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno has backed the move to include immediate family members of healthcare workers in the vaccination of Priority Group A1.

According to Moreno, these family members have a high risk of being exposed to Covid-19 since they are in close contact with healthcare workers.

"Naay rason nganong giapil ang immediate members of the frontliners. They're moving in the same house and they are exposed also kay kanang mga health workers na expose [sa virus], expose sad ang ilang pamilya," Moreno said during the daily press briefing at the city hall Thursday, June 10.

It can be recalled that frontline health workers working at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center were required to undergo quarantine before they can go home. The same could be said for the guards working at the city jail in Barangay Lumbia.

"Mao kanang tuyo sa pag-include sa immediate members para nga dili ma-alienate ang mga health workers sa ilang pamilya, dili sad matakdan ang ilang pamilya," Moreno said.

"We will endeavor to apply the regulations the best we can but kung masayop, okay lang kay na protektahan man sad tong atong natagaan kay wala may pili sa biktima ang virus," he added.
