Cebu City running short of vaccines

SunStar File

THE administration of the first dose of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines in Cebu City has been hampered again after the city ran out of vaccines.

Acting Mayor Michael Rama of Cebu City stated that only two vaccination sites were opened on Friday, June 11, 2021.

Rama said these sites administered second doses of vaccines.

Cebu City Health Department (CHD) officer-in-charge Jeffrey Ibones, in a separate interview, confirmed the city ran out of vaccines for the first dose administration.

Ibones hoped the City's allocation will arrive within the week, so it can resume its vaccination next week.

Rama already asked the Department of Health (DOH) Central Visayas to provide Cebu City its allocation, adding that the city will expand its vaccinations to the mountain barangays. (JJL)
