THREE members of a crime group, one of them an elected official, have surrendered to government authorities in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Friday, June 11, 2021.
Police Brigadier General Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the crime group surrenderers as the following: Razul Elle Torres, 29; Ramon Adlaon Regidor, Jr., 46; and, Alimodin Sama Abao, 48.
Ylagan said Regidor is a councilor in the village of Old Mirapao, Dinas, Zamoanga del Sur. The latter and the other two surrenderers belonged to the Andang crime group, which is engaged in gun-for-hire and other atrocities.
He said the three surrendered around 1 p.m. Thursday in Purok Camia in Poblacion village, Dinas, Zamboanga Del Sur.
Ylagan said the surrender of the three was facilitated by police and military officials based in Dinas.
He said they were placed under the custody of Dinas Municipal Mayor Eleazer Asoy and were required to report monthly to Dinas Municipal Police Station for monitoring. (SunStar Zamboanga)
