Over P700,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P703,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in separate drug bust operations of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Special Operations Unit (SOU)- Western Visayas in Bacolod City on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Susana Diaz, 62, of Purok Sigay, Barangay 2; Jose Carlos, 21, of Guinhalaran, Silay City; and Rollin Robles, 25, of Barangay Villamonte,

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of BCPO, said Diaz and Carlos were arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 and SOU-Western Visayas after they sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover at the parking area of Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Barangay 8 around 3:45 p.m.

Police recovered from the suspects’ possession a knot-tied plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing 100 grams with an estimated market value of P680,000, the P1,000 marked money and a paper bag.

The suspects were identified as new high-value individuals in Bacolod.

Robles was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 on Purok 7, Mazo-Ylac Streets, Barangay Villamonte around 8:10 p.m.

Police recovered from Robles’s possession nine sachets of shabu weighing 3.27 grams with an estimated market value of P23,000, the P500 marked money and a pouch.

The suspects were detained at the custodial facility of Police Stations 2 and 4. They will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
