Former Eat Bulaga host Julia Clarete speaks about rumored separation from husband

FORMER Eat Bulaga host Julia Clarete ends rumors that her married life is on the rocks.

It was in 2015 when Julia left the Philippines to follow her long-time partner Gareth McGeown in Malaysia.

However, in 2018 the couple came back to the Philippines with Sebastian - Julia's son from a previous relationship.

Gareth is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Coca-Cola in Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei.

Julia explained why she and her family came back to the Philippines.

"I might as well address it now. Kasi ang dami ngang artistang ganyan na kapag nag-settle down, tapos umalis ng bansa, pagbalik, nagbalik-artista, yun pala, boom! May naging marital problems. It happens a lot.

"But in my case kasi, when I left Eat Bulaga! for Malaysia, it was to join Gareth. Kasi we were gonna settle in na, we were gonna get married."

Julia narrates...

“Sinabi sa kanya, 'Gusto mo bang i-take on ang Philippines?'

"Sabi niya [sa akin], 'You want to go back home?'

"I said, 'Do you want to take on the Philippines?' E, love niya ang Pilipinas, kasi dito na rin siya galing before.

“Ako, hindi ko makakailang miss na miss ko ang Pinas. So sabi ko, 'Tara.'

"And he was very happy na parang I didn't mind coming back, na we will be susceptible to intrigue. But it was purely for his work and ang saya namin dito.

"So, he is now the CEO of Coca-Cola Bottlers in the Philippines.”

"Expat family kami. So, we will be moving after a few years.

"So, we don't know when that will be but hopefully we get to stay a little longer.”

Julia and Greth tied the knots in July 2017.

Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz had a Zoom meeting with director Cathy Garcia-Molina, Sagip Pelikula head Leo Katigbak, and movie screenwriter Vanessa Valdez for the restoration of the 2010 movie Miss You Like Crazy.

However, the meeting was not for their upcoming movie collaboration with Star Cinema, No Goodbyes.

The Zoom session was for the restored version of their 2010 movie Miss You Like Crazy.

Leo Katigbak, the head of ABS-CBN's Film Restoration Project or Sagip Pelikula, took to Instagram a photo from their Zoom meeting held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

Present in the Zoom meeting were Bea, John Lloyd, Direk Cathy, and Miss You Like Crazy screenwriter Vanessa Valdez.

Leo wrote in his post's caption, "Candid moment. The last time the 5 of us were together was for a ONE MORE CHANCE special recording. That time, it was over Italian food and face-to-face. We have to settle for zoom for now but it doesn’t make the moment any less special. It was a wonderful Wednesday indeed with @v_r_v_ , @kaybash1326 @beaalonzo and @johnlloydcruz83."

Vanessa reposted the post on her Instagram story. Her caption read, "It's one of those terribly underappreciated and misunderstood films simply because it was different. Hanging out with these people again made me love even more the very first story for film I wrote for Star Cinema (I wrote the original story in 2004). And it made me miss working with these film greats and working in the old normal."

Meanwhile, rumors are persistent about Bea signing with GMA-7 after she agreed to do a movie with Kapuso actor Alden Richards.

They are set to top-bill the Pinoy adaptation of the Japanese series Pure Soul, which will be produced by Viva Films, APT Entertainment, and GMA Pictures.

GMA Pictures is a film outfit under GMA Network's film arm, GMA Films.

There is no recent update about John Lloyd and Bea's pending movie, No Goodbyes, under Star Cinema.
