108 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 108 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, one of which is a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 107 are local transmissions.

This brought the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 8,634.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 107 new local cases, 24 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, five were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 67 were local index cases, 10 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and one mortality.

Of the 8,634 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 442 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 8,192 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro logged 1,563 active cases, 404 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 1,157 were outpatients, and two ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 128 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 6,691, with a 77.49-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 315 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 6,252 were local cases (community: 5,260; Apors: 992).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 380.
