CEBUANO James Bacon finally faces American prospect Alexis Rocha on June 19, 2021, in the undercard of the Jaime Munguia vs. Kamil Szeremeta in a Golden Boy Promotions show at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas, USA.
Bacon and Rocha were originally slated to face each other last year in one of the undercard bouts of a Golden Boy Promotions event on Aug. 28, 2020, in Indio, California. However, the show was scrapped after one of the main event fighters, Jorge Linares, tested positive for Covid-19.
The 31-year-old Bacon instead fought Gonzalo Dallera and won via a second-round knockout in Miami, Florida on Oct. 17.
Rocha, on the other hand, fought Rashidi Ellis and lost by unanimous decision in his first career defeat.
Bacon went on to win two more fights with wins over Roque Junco and Ramon de la Cruz Sena.
The 23-year-old Rocha, meanwhile, has not stepped foot on a ring since that loss.
Bacon, a former ALA Boy, is 26-4 with 17 knockouts, while Rocha is 16-1 with 10 knockouts. (EKA)
