DHVSU-Candaba opens new tertiary courses

THE Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU)-Candaba campus is welcoming the upcoming school year with new courses to offer to students.

DHVSU Candaba school director Jessie Manapsal said at least five new programs were added to the list of undergraduate courses offered in the campus for the curriculum year 2021-2022.

This includes Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Bachelor of Science in Statistics, and Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management.

The said courses are addition to the eight undergraduate courses, namely, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majors in Marketing or Economics, Bachelor of Science and Entrepreneurship, Bachelor in Public Administration, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education majors in Math or English and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Master's Degree in Education offered on the campus' first year of operation.

Manapsal said the launching of new programs is aligned with the state university and local government's vision of providing quality but affordable tertiary education to youth of Candaba and nearby towns.

Manapsal cited the initiative of Mayor Rene Maglanque to bring new courses to DHVSU Candaba campus in the goal of providing more choices and opportunities to CandabeƱo students.

Meanwhile, the announcement of new courses coincided with the groundbreaking for the construction of the school gymnasium.

The soon-to-rise P12-million infrastructure was funded by fourth district Representative Juan Pablo Bondoc.

"I pledged this infrastructure during the opening and I am glad to announce that we are now closer to fulfilling it," he said.

Maglanque, for his part, expressed gratitude to Bondoc for his continued support to programs and projects aimed at further developing Candaba.

"This gymnasium will sure become a venue of many activities and events that will help mold students into better and productive citizens of our country, and will be a witness as they pave their way to success," he said.
