VIETNAM-based VSP Promotions finalized the fight card and the venue of its upcoming event “Relentless: Fists of Fire” headlined by 2016 Olympian Charly Suarez on July 3.
The show features 10 pro bouts and will be staged outside of Metro Manila, at the Urdaneta Sports and Cultural Center in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
The 32-year-old Suarez trades leathers with veteran Eduardo Mancito in a 10-round main event.
Suarez has turned some heads after entering the pro ranks in 2019 after a gold medal finish in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. He destroyed all but one of his six opponents. He’ll face his most experienced foe in Mancito.
Mancito has fought some of the elite names in his weight class, the likes of World Boxing Council (WBC) super bantamweight king Rey Vargas, ex-world titleholder Tomas Rojas, two-time world title contender Alberto Guevara and former Olympian Satoshi Shimizu.
Mancito’s last fight was a loss to Tanzanian Salimu Jengo by unanimous decision in Tanzania in 2020.
Suarez is 6-0 with five knockouts, while the 28-year-old Mancito is 18-11-2 with nine knockouts.
In the undercard, Bienvenido Ligas (13-1-1, 9 KOs) slugs it out with Miel Fajardo (7-1-1, 6 KOs) in a battle of hard-hitters, WBC No. 14 super bantamweight Jhunriel Ramonal (17-8-6, 10 KOs) takes on club fighter Landy Cris Leon (13-22-5, 6 KOs), Lorenz Ladrada (9-1-1, 3 KOs) faces off with Claudevan Sese (7-2-3, 1 KO).
Jino Rodrigo (5-2-2, 4 KOs) locks horns with experienced Roberto Gonzales (28-6-1, 3 KOs), Arnel Baconaje (12-4, 10 KOs) is up against Ivor Lastrilla (10-12-1, 7 KOs), Jon Jon Estrada (11-8-1, 10 KOs) squares off with Igorot pug Rex Wao (11-4, 8 KOs).
Cris Ganoza (18-3, 9 KOs) exchanges blows with Junuel Lacar (8-7-3, 6 KOs), Ranielo Quizo (7-2, 1 KO) is fighting Joseph Bayubay (4-1-2, 2 KOs), and Jonniel Laurente makes his pro debut against fellow newcomer Jeric Wayne Canawil. (EKA)
