122 Cagayan de Oro residents contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office recorded 122 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases, all of which were local transmissions, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 9,026.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 122 new local cases, 29 were close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 19 were local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), 69 were local index cases and five deaths.

Of the 9,026 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 442 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 8,584 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro logged 1,619 active cases, 394 of whom were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 1,223 were outpatients, and two were ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 117 new coronavirus-positive persons who were now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 7,009, with a 77.65-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 315 were LSIs, 124 were ROFs, and 6,570 were local cases (community: 5,539; Apors: 1,031).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city was now at 398.
