NEGROS OCCIDENTAL Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, said the May 2022 elections may be uncertain if the Covid-19 pandemic continues.

"If the surge in Covid-19 cases continues, what kind of approach will be applied? How will the physical distancing be imposed? It remains to be seen," Ferrer said.

He said all of this will still depend on the approach and measures to be taken by the Commission on Election.

He said the registration of voters continues, an indication that the elections may push through.

About the political situation, Ferrer said that up until recently, there is no party caucus and party decisions yet as far as the National Unity Party is concerned.

"There is no declaration yet on who will be supported by the party," Ferrer said.
