DA to honor distinguished women in agri-field

DISTINGUISHED women nominees from Central Luzon attended the Scrapbook Evaluation, led by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 3-Gender and Development Focal Point System (DARFO3-GAD) that aims to honor the role of women in the agriculture field.

The search runs with the theme “Getting to Know Juana During the Pandemic.”

The program aims to recognize the value and significant role of women in the society, especially in the field of agriculture and fishing.

The program began with the introductory message of Gender and Development focal point head Secretariat Anabel Mendoza, followed by the presentation of the criteria to select Outstanding Young Farmers, Outstanding Women Educator, Outstanding Women Entrepreneur and Outstanding Rural Women.

The search was led by Regional Executive Director Crispulo Bautista Jr. as GAD chairperson, in collaboration with GAD focal person Dr. Irene Adion and GAD Alternate focal person Dr. Evelyn Fernando the GAD Focal Point System.

The DARFO-3 Search for Outstanding Rural Women in the Field of Agriculture and Fisheries is based on Proclamation number 227 series of 1992 as part of the celebration of National Women’s Month.
