A TEACHER and her husband were shot to death in Purok Diot, Barangay Molocaboc, Sagay City on Thursday evening, June 17, 2021.
Killed were Melani Desamparado, 44, and Ermelito Desamparado, 46, both residents of the said barangay.
Authorities said the victims were riding a motorcycle on their way home when the incident happened.
The husband fetched his wife at the wharf when the unidentified suspect on board a motorcycle waylaid and shot them.
The husband sustained a lone gunshot wound on his head. His wife, meanwhile, was wounded on her stomach.
Both died on the spot, the police said.
Authorities already have persons of interest. They were already subjected to paraffin tests.
The police have yet to establish the motive for the killing.
They also have to check if the couple had previous threats. Investigation is ongoing.
