Honor thy father

IT IS written in the bible as the first commandment of God to "Honor your father and mother," - Ephesians 6:2, and Ephesians 6:1-4 states," Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother,” this is the first commandment with a promise, “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

On June 20, the world marked the celebration of Father's Day, and families all over the world took the time to celebrate this special occasion with their fathers in various ways.

Facebook, the most prominent social media platform served as the catch basin of all the greetings intended for all the fathers quoted from photos, memories, greetings, and prayers as sons, daughters, and the family, in general, expressed to one of the pillars of the family- the father.

With the Covid-19 pandemic, families found ways on how they celebrated this special day be it in a simple tone or by putting up a celebration such as hosting lunch or dinner in honor of the father either at the confines of their homes or outside while observing the safety and health protocols.

Let us see how the Father's day greetings run:

Johanna Taño greets her husband artist Citoy Taño with his message: "You're not perfect...You make mistakes but I appreciate how you give your best to be a good father to your children. I am grateful that we are one in mind and in heart in supporting Iya, Imo and A2N to reach their dreams and their goals.

"Let us continue making memories together. My Verse for you...'For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.' 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 Encourage and comfort your children. Happy Father's Day, Tatay. Palangga ka gid namon."

Jojane Morcilla, wife of Michael and mother of two sons Miggy and Marc and daughter Meagan greets her husband, "From neckless to yumminess!!! I miss my chabilito sometimes but I love the healthy version more!!! More bike trails our dear tatay Michael D. Morcilla.. thank you for always making us your priority. HAPPY FATHERS DAY! Muah!"

Bikers who are fathers themselves got a greeting from Spoontrail: "Happy Fathers day indeed!! Celebrating fathers day with our dear patrons by giving them these presents!!"

Churchill Aguilar, our editor-in-chief, has this message to his father, "We grew up grumbling that papa could have done better as a father in a lot of things, but when we all became dads we realized fatherhood is everything but a walk in the park. We were not even half as good as our old man. So with humility and much gratitude, I would like to greet my old man a Happy Father's Day! As for us brothers, being a father is a gift and a responsibility. We all try to be the best we can be in the most imperfect setup. We are not perfect dads, but dads nonetheless! Happy Father's Day!

Amber Aguilar, daughter Roger and La-arni Aguilar, greets her father with this, "Happy Daddy Day Dad...Love you whoopaahhh!!!
