THE Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (Bfar) 7 has fulfilled its commitment to the Dumanjug Municipal Government in Cebu Province in providing fishery livelihood interventions for the marginalized fisherfolk in the town’s coastal communities.
The bureau turned over to the municipality on June 11, 2021, five 22-footer fiberglass-reinforced plastic boats. Each boat is paired with a marine engine and accessories.
The boats will be distributed to selected fishermen from Dumanjug who are identified as among the “poorest of the poor.”
Spearheading the activity were the Regional Fisheries Training and Fisherfolk Coordination Division and the Cebu Provincial Fishery Office of the Bfar 7 and the local government unit of Dumanjug.
