AN ESTABLISHMENT located along Archbishop Reyes Ave. in Cebu City was issued a show cause order on Saturday night, June 19, 2021, for allegedly violating health protocols and the curfew policy of the City Government.

A prevention suspension to serve liquor was also imposed on the establishment, while the investigation is ongoing, according to Business Permit and Licensing Office head Jared Limquiaco.

The suspension will only be lifted if the establishment is found not guilty, he said.

City Councilor Joel Garganera, deputy chief implementer of the Emergency Operations Center, said authorities are considering endorsing the revocation of the establishment’s liquor permit.

In a previous report, Limquiaco said establishments have to secure a special permit on top of their liquor permit for them to serve liquor while the city is under community quarantine amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Garganera said 122 customers of the bar were brought to the Cogon Ramos Barangay Gym for violating minimum health standards and the curfew.

“This will serve as a lesson to all who disregard our safety in this pandemic,” Garganera said.

The establishment was inspected by members of the Cebu City Police Office and the Prevention, Restoration, Order, Beautification, and Enhancement team. (JJL)
