POLICEMEN in Pampanga gave treats to jeepney drivers as part of their Father’s Day celebration on Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Instead of the regular checking and issuance of tickets during the Oplan Sita, personnel of the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) handed out rice packs and shoes to jeepney drivers.

The drivers also received hygiene kits that contain face masks, face shield, hand towel and bottled water to protect them against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Jeepney drivers plying the Jose Abad Santos Avenue also received pairs of shoes and packs of rice.

PPPO Deputy Provincial Director Derick Relativo said the gift-giving activity was aimed to show appreciation to jeepney drivers for their hard work during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Relativo said their service of ferrying passengers every day amid the Covid-19 threat is very essential and heroic.
