WORKING together for years has developed a deeper level of friendship and bond between stars of The Gold Squad, but are they ready to move forward with their respective careers apart?
This was one of the questions Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin were asked to answer during a recent virtual press event for their ongoing series “Huwag Kang Mangamba.”
The four young stars understand the need to grow individually as artists and that they are preparing themselves to go out from their comfort zone.
“Kung bibigyan pa po kami ng other projects na magkakasama kami, why not po (If we will be given another project together, why not). We started working together, kami ni Francine, when we’re still 14, 15 and now I’m 18, I can really say that we are now equipped to do more projects individually,” Andrea shared.
She added she will support whatever will help them grow for the better.
Her love team partner Seth, meanwhile, expressed that while they are open to continue their journey as individual artists, he would still want to explore and do more projects with the squad.
“Hindi habambuhay na magkasama kami sa mga projects. Pero sana more projects together kasi sino ba naman kami para tanggihan if may offer na magkakasama pa rin kami (We understand that we will not be working together always but hopefully we can still do more projects together. If there will be offers, who are we to reject it?),” he said.
For Francine, whatever projects that will come her way will always be considered a blessing. But she admitted she will miss the squad whenever the time comes.
“Ready na ba ako (to do projects apart)? I’d say 50-50, kasi sobrang maninibago ako sa makakasama ko, nasanay na akong sila always nakikita ko at nakakasama, hindi ako ready sa idea na hindi ko sila makikita every day. Hindi ako ready sa fact na di na sila makakawork pero I’m so ready to grow. (I am so used to working with them almost every day. I’m not yet that ready to the idea of not seeing them daily at work but I’m so ready to grow),” she shared.
Kyle, for his part, also underscored that they don’t want to become too dependent on each other.
“Baka kasi kapag kami-kami na lang always, maging masyado na kaming masanay, maging komportable sa isa’t isa to the point na baka di na kami marunong mag acting kapag di sila ang magiging ka eksena namin(The tendency of getting so used of working with the same people always is we may become too complacent and too comfortable to the point that we will not allow growth anymore in our careers),” he said.
The Gold Squad was formed after their very successful afternoon series “Kadenang Ginto.”
Currently, the four young artists are the lead stars of the ongoing primetime series “Huwag Kang Mangamba,” which airs weeknights, and is accessible via Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, WeTV, and iflix.
Aside from the series the four are also featured in a new digital anthology series Click, Like, Share, which highlights social media responsibility. Available on KTX.ph, iWantTFC, and TFC IPTV.
