P48,000 shabu seized in Bacolod

AN ESTIMATED P48,000 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 5 in Purok Matahum, Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City Wednesday morning, June 23, 2021.

The operation also led to the arrest of Richard Cabiles, 35, of Barangay Tangub.

Police Major Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police undercover around 2 a.m.

Police recovered from Cabiles’s possession nine sachets of shabu, the P500 marked money and cellular phone.

Gabana said Cabiles was identified as street-level individual in Bacolod City. He was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect was detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 5. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
