Aklan Covid-19 deaths nearing 100-mark

THE total number of Covid-19 deaths in the province of Aklan is nearing the 100-mark, while active Covid-19 cases were at 900, a report said.

In a Provincial Epidemiology Surveillance Unit report, the number of Covid-19 deaths was at 91, while active cases were at 900.

Of the said number of active cases, 768 were at the facility quarantine, 71 were placed in home quarantine, while 61 were admitted to a hospital.

Covid-19 recoveries also reached 2,836.

Because of the surge in cases, Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores signed an executive order that prohibits dine-in services at restaurants until July 6. Barbershops were also ordered to halt their operations.

Border restrictions started on June 7 and were expected to end June 22. However, it was extended with heightened restrictions until July 6.
