Tarlac Diocese orders requiem mass for PNoy

ALL parishes in Tarlac, home province of the late former President Benigno “Noynoy” S.C. Aquino III, are set to hold requiem masses Saturday, June 26, 2021, to coincide with the day of the inurnment of his ashes at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

Tarlac Bishop Enrique Macaraeg directed all parish priests in the Diocese of Tarlac to celebrate at least one requiem mass for the soul of Aquino.

"We direct all parish priests and priests-in-charge in the diocese to celebrate a requiem mass for the soul of the late former president Aquino in all parishes and pastoral stations," said Macaraeg.

"The bishop, clergy, religious, and laity of the Diocese of Tarlac offer their sincerest condolences and prayers to the Aquino family for the demise of the former president, who is a part of the faithful of our local church," he added.

Aquino passed away at the age of 61 in a hospital in Quezon City early Thursday, June 24.

His remains would be laid to rest Saturday beside his parents' tombs at the Manila Memorial Park.
